Independence Day celebrated with great zeal and fervour at ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana

 

The 73rd Independence Day celebrated at ICAR-Agricultural Technology Research Institute, Zone-1, Ludhiana with the unfurling of the tricolor and salute taking ceremony by the chief guest of the occasion Dr. Rajbir Singh, Director, ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana. In his address, while extending the greetings on India’s 73rd Independence Day and Rakshabandan, he recalled the sacrifice made by our freedom fighters that fought selflessly and even sacrificed their lives for our country to attain freedom. He also narrated the India’s journey from a poorest one to self- sufficient in food and even exporting the same to other counties post-independence. While speaking on the occasion, Dr. Singh briefed the major accomplishments of ICAR-ATARI, Zone-1 especially in Crop Residue Management that has been highlighted at PMO level too. He urged the staff to work hard and sincerely, so that we can sustain the hard-earned success in endeavor through serving the farmers. This time the occasion is celebrated with more zeal and gusto as it commences with a 21 day International Training Programme on “Agriculture Extension Management System in India with Key Lessons for African Continent” at the Institute. The celebration was attended by the staff of ATARI and delegates of the training programme from different African countries. The trainees has enjoyed the function and got impressed by the culture and hospitality offered by Indians. The celebration was concluded with distribution of sweets to all.
