Kirti Kumari, KVK Tehri Garhwal felicitated with “Teelu Rauteli Rajya Stree Shakti Award”, the most prestigious award of Uttarakhand

 

Teelu Rauteli was the Garhwali Rajput and one of the youngest warriors who fought seven wars between the age of 15 and 21 years in the 17th century and known as the Ranilaxmibai of Garhwal. In the honour of her sacrifices State Govt. has established Rauteli Rajya Stree Shakti Award in 2006. Kirti Kumari (Scientist-Food Tech) from Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Tehri Garhwal VCSG Uttarakhand University of Horticulture and Forestry has been felicitated with “Tilu Rauteli Rajya Stree Shakti Award-2020” by District Magistate Sh. Mangesh Ghildiyal for her exemplary performances in their field of work in Uttarakhand on 08.08.2020 with reward money of Rs. 21,000/- on the auspicious occasion of Birth Anniversary of Teelu Rauteli.

 

The awards were conferred by the Directorate of Women Empowerment and Child Development (WECD), Uttarakhnad and the event was presided by Hon’ble Chief Minister Sh. Trivendra Rawat. The event was connected with all district of Uttarakhand through NIC. Ho’ble CM has talked to all awardees through Video Conferencing. State Minister of WECD Rekha Arya and other Senior Officers of the department also attended the event. Kirti Kumari has made her contribution as Food Scientist, Promoter of Girl Child Education, Pathfinder of Women entrepreneurship, Social Nutrition Activist in Uttarakhnad State. She is connected to 6000 women in and 13 NGO’s in Uttarakhand State and helping them to become entrepreneur and self-reliant. She has set-up 9 Food Processing Models/Growth centre in Uttarakhnad State with the help of Govt. She played a big role in executing the Govt. models of Nutrition, Food Processing and Women empowerment at grassroot level.

 


She is the Brand Ambassador of “Beti Bachao, Beti Padao” for Tehri and received 3 International, 5 National, 2 State and 5 district level awards and appreciation at the age of 29 years only. She is the inspiration for all girls and Women not only in Uttarakhand but in India also. She has dedicated this award to her parents, teachers and women & farmers of Uttarakhand. She is thankful to Dr. Ashok Kumar (ICAR- DDG, Extension Education), Dr. Rajbir Sigh (Director, ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana), Prof. Ajeet Karnataka (Vice-Chancellor, VCSG UUHF), Prof. C.Tiwari (Director Extension), Dr. V.P. Khanduri (Dean, CoF), Dr. Arwind Bijalwan and all Scientist of KVK for getting the award.
