KVK Mandi linked farmers Sh. Kundan Lal awarded for innovations and technology development




KVK linked farmer Sh. Kundan Lal, a progressive farmer from Mandi district, Himachal Pradesh has been awarded ICAR’s “Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Antyodaya Krishi Puraskar 2021” today during ICAR’s 94th Foundation Day celebration at NASC, New Delhi. He is a small farmer with a meagre of one acre of land. He has become a role model for his integrated farming system model that not only secured the livelihood but also a source of inspiration for other fellow farmers. Flower cultivation under protected structures, fruit production, off season vegetable cultivation, dairy, bee-keeping, sericulture, azolla production, vermicompost production and round the year mushroom cultivation are the major components of his farming model. He is a brilliant master trainer involved in up-scaling the improved Agri-technologies especially of mushroom cultivation among the farmers in the state of Himachal Pradesh and has trained more than two thousand farmers across the state in mushroom cultivation

Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Antyoday Krishi Puraskar Award is a national award given for innovations and technology development by farmers. This award has been instituted to recognize the contributions of marginal, small and landless farmers for developing sustainable integrated models of farming. The awards comprises Rs. 1,00,000/- as monetary prize along with Memento, Certificate & Citation.
