14TH INSTALLMENT RELEASED TO FARMERS UNDER PM KISAN SCHEME ON 27.07.2023
The Prime Minister of India Sh. Narendra Modi laid the cornerstone for several development projects and dedicated them to the nation in a public ceremony which was held in Sikar, Rajasthan, on July 27, 2023. The Prime Minister has dedicated 1.25 lakh PM Kisan Samriddhi Kendras (PMKSKs) to the country, which is a big move for farmers. PMKSKs are being created to offer a one-stop shop for all of the needs of farmers. PMKSKs are intended to develop into a dependable support system for farmers in the nation, including anything from information on agri-inputs (fertilizers, seeds, and implements) to testing facilities for soil, seed, and fertilizers to information on various ongoing government programs.
A new form of urea which is coated with sulfur was introduced by the Prime Minister, called urea gold. Sulphur deficiency in the soil will be the remedy by the introduction of urea coated with sulfur. This cutting-edge fertilizer is more cost-effective and effective than neem-coated urea, increases crop quality, decreases fertilizer use, and increases plant nitrogen usage efficiency.
On this occasion Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC), the Prime Minister also announced the on boarding of 1500 Farmer Producer Organizations (FPOs) during the program. As a result of ONDC's direct access to digital marketing, online payments, business-to-business (B2B) and business-to-consumer transactions, and promotion of local value addition, logistics in rural areas have grown rapidly.
The 14th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) was also released through direct benefits transfer to more than 8.5 crore beneficiaries, in a move that will serve as another illustration of the Prime Minister's dedication to the welfare of farmers. Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi is an initiative by the Government of India that gives farmers up to Rs 6,000 per year as minimum income support
This event was shown by Krishi Vigyan Kendra’s of ICAR-ATARI, Zone-I, Ludhiana to more the 4700 farmers, farm women, rural youth and 133 local repetitive of different state. During this event Programme Coordinators of different KVKs under ICAR-ATARI, Zone-I, Ludhiana addressed the farmers and asked to visit KVK institute on regular basis as per the vision shown by the PM of India. The whole programme was coordinated by Dr. Preeti Mamgai, Principal Scientist, from ICAR-ATARI, Ludhiana with 72 KVKs of Zone-I.
